چکیده

Case Presentation (Michael H. Kim, MD) A 77-year-old woman was brought to a community hospital emergency room after an episode of syncope. She had been seated at the table and had passed out for '2 minutes. She had a history of hypertension, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, and an abdominal aortic aneurysm repair 10 years earlier. She had no complaints immediately before the syncopal episode. When she awoke, she complained of mild chest and back discomfort that resolved quickly. Over the past several months, she had fatigue, malaise, and abdominal pain, and she had lost 10 lbs of weight. At the hospital, her systolic blood pressure was noted to be 47 mm Hg, and she was transferred to the University of Michigan Medical Center.

Sequential Bayesian Persuasion∗

This paper studies a Bayesian Persuasion model in which multiple senders sequentially persuade one Receiver. Players can always observe signaling rules of prior players and their realizations. I develop a recursive concavification method to characterize the set of SPEa. I prove the existence of a special type of equilibrium, called the Silent Equilibrium, where at most one sender designs a nont...

Bayesian Persuasion

2590 Suppose one person, call him Sender, wishes to persuade another, call her Receiver, to change her action. If Receiver is a rational Bayesian, can Sender persuade her to take an action he would prefer over the action she was originally going to take? If Receiver understands that Sender chose what information to convey with the intent of manipulating her action for his own benefit, can Sende...

Coordinated Sequential Bayesian Persuasion∗

This paper studies an extended Bayesian Persuasion model in which multiple senders persuade one Receiver sequentially and the subsequent players can always observe previous signaling rules and their realizations. In the spirit of Harris (1985), I develop the recursive concavification method to characterize the Subgame Perfect Equilibrium, which summarizes the multiplicity of possible strategic ...

On Bayesian Persuasion with Multiple Senders ∗

In a multi-sender Bayesian persuasion game, Gentzkow and Kamenica (2012) show that increasing the number of senders cannot decrease the amount of information revealed. They assume: (i) senders reveal information simultaneously, (ii) senders’ information can be arbitrarily correlated, and (iii) senders play pure strategies. This paper shows that these three conditions are also necessary to the r...

Design , Bayesian Persuasion and Bayes Correlated Equilibrium

A set of players have preferences over a set of outcomes. We consider the problem of an "information designer" who can choose an information structure for the players to serve his ends, but has no ability to change the mechanism (or force the players to make particular action choices). We describe a unifying perspective for information design. We consider a simple example of Bayesian persuasion...

Bayesian Persuasion

When is it possible for one person to persuade another to change her action? We take a mechanism design approach to this question. Taking preferences and initial beliefs as given, we introduce the notion of a persuasion mechanism: a game between Sender and Receiver defined by an information structure and a message technology. We derive necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a ...
